Know the face behind Ruby Zanchi Designs

In this blog we get to know Ruby Zanchi, the owner of Ruby Zanchi Designs, who worked along side us creating a Digital Illustration of our Brand Ambassador Sophie De Renzy.

We had the pleasure of meeting Ruby Zanchi when she came into our studio to rent some pieces for her 20th birthday last week. We found Ruby to be a bright, social and dedicated young business woman who has been in the business industry for a fair while now with her business Ruby Lou Floral Design, but has just recently decided to start up another company called Ruby Zanchi Designs.

Ruby has worked in the Wedding and Events industry for roughly five years now with her company Ruby Lou Floral Designs. She has now started up a second company, Ruby Zanchi Design all while studying Design at university.

After getting to know Ruby personally we thought you should too!

Here's what we asked Ruby so you can get to know her better:

How many years have you been in business with Ruby Zanchi Designs?

Only about three months!

Do you have more than one company? If so, what are the names of your other businesses and what do they do?

By trade I am a Florist, I have worked in the industry for over four years. In 2019 I decided to branch out by myself and start a business call Ruby Lou Floral Design that focuses on Wedding, Events and Floral Workshops. I also make Floral Smudge Sticks.

Do you study? If you study, what are you currently studying and how many years are you into your studies.

I study Communication Design full time. I'm three years into my studies and have one year left as I decided to do a certifications in Digital Media Design to begin with.

Once you finish university what do you think you'll do from there?

I'm still unsure which direction I want to go in but for now my goal is to find a career where I can blend both Graphic Design and Floristry together.

All up how many years have you been in business?

I've been in the wedding industry for about four/ five years.

What is one unique thing about you that you would like to share with our community?

I'm originally from England, I moved to New Zealand when I was 11 with my family. Before that we had been travelling for 6 months around the world with a backpack each.I love travelling and finding inspiration for my work in unique different places.

What's one piece of business advice someone has given you that has always stuck with you?

To focus and be consistent. Consistence is key.

What's one piece of business advice you can give those wanting to start up their own business?

Just do it! As cheesy as it sounds just do it, people have so many great ideas but are too scared to just start. It's starting that's the hardest part, from there you learn and grow with it. It's very easy to get caught up in the "buts and what ifs" and put it off.
